Cooperation with the Youth Sports Federation of Poland will be continued in 2010.
Presence at Polish Youth Olympic Days
Our presence at the Polish Youth Olympic Days (winter, indoor and summer) is the basic element of our educational and information programme targeted at young athletes. In direct contacts with the athletes we learn about their doubts, training methods and, most importantly, about their knowledge about doping in sport. It follows from our observations that this knowledge is insufficient. In 2010 we plan to be present fifteen times at the Polish Youth Olympic Days – five times at the winter days, five times at the indoor days and five times at the summer days.
Training of coaches of regional youth sports federations
In 2009 we organized four training sessions – about the doping control stages, prohibited substances and methods, therapeutic use exemptions and use of food and diet supplements. Each training session was attended by coaches representing regional youth sports federations. Until today we have been invited to organize three training sessions in 2010. It is difficult to give the exact number of training sessions, which will be organized in 2010; we estimate that there will be about 16 of them.
Dissemination of information
Educational and information packages, adapted to individual age groups, are distributed electronically to the Youth Sports Federation of Poland, which forwards them to the Regional Sports Federations. Subsequently, the information packages are forwarded to coaches and then to athletes.

Educational programme at Sports Championship Schools
Since Sports Championships Schools are the breeding ground for new talents, the future Olympic, world and European champions, they require special support of the Commission Against Doping in Sport – information about fighting doping in sport is of particular value there.
Programme phases:
The programme will be carried out by delegated teachers of Sports Championship Schools.
Visits at Sports Championship Schools
In order to enhance the programme importance, 5 educational visits to 5 most important Sports Championship Schools are planned. It is not possible to visit all Sports Championship Schools due to a limited number of teachers and logistic problems.
Distribution of educational packages
Educational packages with the presentation will be distributed electronically or on DVD or CD disks.

Educational and information materials
This programme is targeted at junior high and secondary school children. It aims to expand knowledge about current issues related to doping in sport: prohibited substances and methods, health consequences of using prohibited substances and proper diet and supplements. In 2010 preparations will be made to launch the programme in 2011.
Collaboration with the Ministry of National Education
Phases of programme preparation:
One class about doping in sport in each form and each school.
Programme background
The programme should be implemented following a campaign in the mass media – public television, radio and other media. It is important to buy air time to effectively implement the programme. This is possible with the help of public media.
Programme aims
Information about the basic assumptions of the educational programme should focus public opinion on the problem of doping in sport and on improper use of diet and food supplements.

Participation in Euro Days – an event organized by PL 2012. PL2012 Sp. z o.o. is an organizational unit financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, responsible for the coordination of work related with the organization of the European Football Championships Euro 2012.
The information and educational programme organized by PL2012 includes a 30-minute anti-doping part. The programme is targeted at junior high and secondary school children. The programme includes five visits of representatives of the Commission Against Doping in Sport (in 2010) to schools.
Programme aims
Promotion of knowledge about:
- Collaboration with the Youth Sports Federation of Poland
- Educational Programme at Sports Championship Schools
- National anti-doping programme – implemented together with the Ministry of National Education
- Collaboration with PL 2012 (organization responsible for preparations for European Football Championships in 2012)
- Implementation of educational programmes
- Time framework
In 2009 the Commission started collaboration with the Youth Sports Federation of Poland. We cooperate in three areas:
- Presence at youth competitions organized by the Federation (Polish Youth Olympic Days) – we try to be present at all such events, where we have our education desk with educational materials, athlete’s guidebook; young athletes can take part in an anti-doping quiz. We always offer assistance and advice and try to answer all the questions asked;
- Organization of training for coaches in Polish regions. This is an activity, which is different from the education and information desk described above. As the recipients are different, we have developed a different education model – there are lectures followed by a Q&A session during which problems, which raise many doubts among coaches can be addressed;
- Distribution of education and information materials – the materials are distributed electronically with the help of the Youth Sports Federation of Poland, which forwards them to the regional training managers and to regional coaches. Finally, the materials reach young athletes. The system is very simple; all it requires is the good will of all its participants. We are able to reach about 15,000 people.
Cooperation with the Youth Sports Federation of Poland will be continued in 2010.
